Traber earns fifth Hans Neukomm Award
Community volunteer and past Leadership Corvallis board president Biff Traber has been honored for his service with the 2008 Hans Neukomm Leadership Award.
The award, presented to Traber at the Leadership Corvallis graduation ceremony June 12, is named for program founder Hans Neukomm. This is the fifth year the award has been given; Julie Manning, the late Scott Zimbrick, Pete Bober and Susan Poole are previous recipients.
Traber, who is retired from a career as a software-industry executive, is a board member with the Boys & Girls Club of Corvallis, where he chairs the technology committee and has been a past chair of the Hoop Jam event; and United Way, where he sits on the granting and executive committees.
Traber also serves as an officer for two community groups. This year he is President of the Rotary Club of Corvallis. He is also treasurer of the Benton County Democrats. On Thursday afternoons, Traber works a shift at the St. Vincent DePaul food bank.
Congratulations, Biff!
